What if it’s okay? What if there isn’t some problem, internally or externally, that I need to fix or solve? What if I don’t need to check with someone else about whether I am doing “it” right or getting “it” or seeing “it”? What if I know, in the cells and neurons of my body, that I am perfect and complete, lacking nothing? That I have everything I need to realize this in my own body and mind, every day, in every situation? What if I trust that life is serving me the exact right ingredients to realize my liberation and do work in the world that advances the liberation of all beings? What if I know that I am nature itself? Magic itself? Mystery and aliveness itself?
The amount of mental, emotional, and spiritual energy I have spent in my life doubting all of the above—it’s a lot. And I truly do not believe that it’s a mistake. I know that I will continue to have doubts; I can use them as juice for the journey. I also believe that I can’t separate my experience of these doubts, insecurities and insufficiencies from the culture I live in. White supremacist capitalist patriarchy is designed to keep me swirling in these doubts, lest I discover the true extent of my power and take action based on it. It’s why I believe that spiritual, emotional and mental self-empowerment is a radical, liberatory act.
I vow to reclaim all of my power and energy from these toxic societal systems and use them to create a more just, loving and joyful world for myself and others. I vow to trust my own deep inner knowing and the guidance I receive from goddesses, ancestors, and great beings along the way. I vow to be a student of life, nature and magic. To worship at the altar of relationship, healing and justice. May every day of my life be a living amends for the harm I have caused along the way, and a living repayment of the debt of gratitude I’ve incurred for all of the teachings, blessings and good fortune that I have received in this life.
